Take a look around Louisville's newest event venue

A new event venue has opened in Louisville's East End, hoping to take advantage of its location to attract business along the I-64 corridor as far as Lexington.

Utah-based Noah Corp. is now operating an event venue at 12451 Plantside Drive in the business park, which is located off Interstate 64 near Blankenbaker Parkway.

The building is just shy of 10,000 square feet and hosted its first event, a wedding, on Aug. 22. It cost about $5 million to construct, said building manager Ashley Tuggle.

The event center is capable of hosting business meetings, conventions, holiday parties and other special events, such as charity galas, Tuggle said.

“Basically, anything you would need a convention space (for),” she said.

She said Noah chose Blankenbaker Station because it provides easy access to Shelbyville and can draw from cities an hour away, as it has already held a wedding for clients out of Lexington.

She also said noted that there's not many other event venues in the East End, meaning it provides a more accessible option for businesses and residents in that area.

But she also anticipates business from other parts of Louisville, noting brides are willing to drive across town if they love the venue.

Tuggle runs the facility with two event assistants and said events have been booked as far ahead as 2017. But, she said, there are still a lot of open dates since the facility is newly open.

Noah's can book an event with as little notice as one day, provided the event is doable with what is available in the building, she said.

The facility typically is closed on Sundays but can be opened for events if necessary, Tuggle said. Rates vary, based on the day of the week and amount of space needed.

The company has a business block available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. During that time frame, businesses can book a smaller conference room for $456 or pay $1,014 for the larger conference room, she said. The smaller conference room can hold as many as 140 while the larger conference room can hold up to 350, she added.

The whole building is available to businesses for $1,998.

Beyond its event halls and meeting space, the venue has a full catering kitchen and a game room that also can be used as a board room, Tuggle said. The company has an open vendor policy, and its rentals include tables, chairs, supplies and equipment.

Noah Corp. was founded in 2003 and opened its first location in Utah in 2007, according to its website. It has since grown to more than 25 locations, with venues in states such as Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
